In an ideal Corona world, the above image would reflect the reality of home schooling for kids. Plenty of materials and endless time to dedicate to the young students.
Learning Gap
Although interested in education, most parents lack resources to successfully support their children while learning from home. The main gaps are
- time: most parents are working and cannot focus on searching learning materials online or stay all the time with their kids to complete exercises
- materials: high quality materials are rare and often have a price tag. It is difficult to find good apps
- applications adapted for kids: many parents lack the skill to evaluate quickly if certain applications are designed for kids. Often very well designed apps contain advertisements or hidden costs (traps, especially smaller children might fall into)
SCenario
You are part of a whats app group of (german) parents, searching for home schooling advice due to the closure of public schools. There are regularly held Zoom Meetings, where the current situation is discussed and you have volunteered to do research on behalf of the other parents and present a tool to support the needs. The main channels of contact are:
- Zoom Meetings
Instructional Goal
Your goal is
- to present a learning solution for the parents of the group
- roll it out as quickly as possible in all channels and
- offer advice on how parents can successfully use it immediately to get resources for homeschooling.

Digital Video / Screencast
The screencast explains where you can find the Anton app, what it is, how to create an account and how to browse through the materials and take exercises. In addition, it explains how your kids will earn coins for successful lessons, and how they can spend them on mini games inside the app.
